Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level online computer-based test aimed to shortlist students and facilitate various institutions across India that offer various management programmes. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts CMAT. The students who qualify the CMAT become eligible to enrol in various MBA/PGDM programmes in the institutions approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In the year 2012, the first edition of CMAT was conducted successfully.

What is CMAT?
About CMAT Exam
CMAT was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) earlier. But the Government of India established National Testing Agency to replace AICTE to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. The NTA is responsible to conduct the CMAT 2019 by using highly encrypted approaches. At the initial stage NTA would conduct exams CMAT and would gradually gear up to conduct other entrance examinations. In the August 2018, NTA has opened various centres across India to comprehend candidates about the revised and upcoming CMAT 2019 exam pattern.
CMAT Exam Pattern
The CMAT exam pattern is similar to various entrance exams. As announced by the NTA, the test duration of CMAT is 3 hours and to be conducted in a single sitting. The pattern is designed to assess the competency of the candidates’ ability in different segments such as Quantitative technique, Logical reasoning, Language comprehension & General Awareness.
CMAT Exam Syllabus
Like other entrance exams, CMAT exam syllabus is also extensive and the question paper comprises of the following sections:
- Quantitative technique
- Logical reasoning
- Language comprehension
- General Awareness
Each section carries 25 questions. And each correct answer carries four marks. There is negative marking of one mark.
CMAT Eligibility
To become eligible to appear in the CMAT, candidates must fulfil the following criteria:
- A candidate should be a citizen of India
- A candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50% of the total marks in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized University.
- Candidates who appeared in their final year graduation exam can also apply for the same.
There is no age limitation. However, it must be kept in mind that mere fulfilment of the eligibility criteria does not make a candidate fit to claim for taking admission.
CMAT 2019 Admit Card
NTA has announced that the CMAT 2019 will be conducted on January 27, 2019. Candidates can download their admit card from the official website NTA CMAT from 10th January 2019 onwards. Just Follow the instructions given on the official website to download the admit card.
